Install from source

From clone to Applications.

Baia builds with Xcode 26 or later. The install target prepares the patched Ghostty dependency, builds the Release app, and copies it to /Applications/baia.app.

You also need Homebrew. There is no notarized binary release yet.

First steps

Open a project. Divide the work.

    Choose a project.

    Press ⌘K to open the project palette and attach a directory, files, and Git context to the pane.

    Split when the work splits.

    Press ⌘D to split right or ⇧⌘D to split down. Each pane keeps its own live shell.

    Move without reaching for the mouse.

    Use ⌥⌘←, ⌥⌘→, ⌥⌘↑, and ⌥⌘↓ to focus neighboring panes.

    Make it yours.

    Press ⌘, for terminal themes, fonts, the Files sidebar, and workspace appearance.

The Pane, Project, View, and Window menus list every command and shortcut. Native macOS tabs can be reordered, detached, and moved between tabbed windows.

baia embeds Ghostty’s terminal engine through Lakr233/libghostty-spm and supplies the workspace around each terminal surface.
